A garbage bag, or can liner (American English) is a disposable bag used to contain waste. A plastic straw is a short tube is designed for a drink to carry the container to the mouth of the drinker by suction. The earliest drinking straws were hollow stems of grass, literally made of straw. A thin tube of plastic (such as polypropylene and polystyrene) or other material, straight or with an accordion-like living hinge, it's worked for held with one end in his mouth and put an end to the drinking . Muscular action reduces air pressure in the mouth, whereupon atmospheric pressure forces the straw. The first straws were made by the Sumerians, and used for drinking beer (the solid by-products of fermentation to occur).Argentines and their neighbors use a similar metallic device called Bombilla acting as both a straw and sieve for drinking tea. The modern drinking straw was patented in 1888 by Marvin C. Stone. Prior to this, people used natural rye grass straws, which were undesirable because they imparted a grassy flavor in beverages. In response to this, Marvin C. Stone made the first plastic straw prototypes by spiraling a strip of paper around a pencil and gluing it at the ends. Next he experimented with paraffin-coated manila paper, so that it would not get soggy when used. This first model was 8 1/2 inches long and had a diameter just wide enough to prevent things like lemon seeds from getting lodged in the tube. Marvin Stone patented his invention on January 3rd, 1888. By 1890, his factory was producing more drinking straws than cigarette holders. In 1906 a machine was invented by the Stone's "Stone Straw Corporation" to automatically wind the straws.
Early paper straws had a narrow bar, similar to grass stems then in common use. It was a common two of them using the effort needed to take each sip, to reduce. Modern straws are made with a larger bore, and only one is needed to facilitate drinking.
